Bio

Married to M. L. Kimbrough who passed away while they lived in Montgomery. Thanks to FAG member Norman Scott who offered that Alma's husband's name was "Mattie." Not "Milton." Alma's obituary lists her husband as Milton Luther Kimbrough. The Montgomery City Directory for 1923 has him as Milton L. Kimbrough. The Social Security Applications and Claims Index for their daughter, Margaret Kimbrough Schroeder, has her parents as Milton L. Kimbrough and Alma L. Lancaster. The 1900 (Mittie L), 1910 (Mitt L) and the 1920 (Mit) censuses list him under the variant names. His own obituary has him as M. L. and Mitt L. At a time when first and second names were offered as initials, conjecture offers the possibility of Mitt/Mit/Mattie as derivatives of Milton, if indeed Milton was his birth name.
