Daniel Lee Franklin Daniel Lee Franklin, age 91, of Sweetwater, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2007, at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. The Reverend James Baker will be officiating. Mr. Franklin came to Sweetwater in 1944 and became an independent truck driver in 1951. He worked for Consolidation Transport during WWII hauling gasoline for the Army Air Corps. He was a graduate of Leesville High School class of 1937. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows. He married Lorraine Angeline Burger in Abilene on March 27, 1945. Lorraine preceded him in death on September 19, 1999; also preceding him in death were two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include a brother, James "Fritz" Franklin of Odessa; nephew, Charles Deriso of Sweeny; nieces, Sandra Rogers of Clifton, Virginia and Robbye Gomez of Annandale, Virginia; special friends, Dorothy Russell and Robert Pieper, both of Sweetwater.
