The Lexington Leader August 2, 2007 Annie Catherine Brown November 27, 1915 – July 24, 2007 Annie Catherine McGee Brown, 91, of Giddings, passed away on July 24, 2007 in Oakland Manor Nursing Center. She was born on November 27, 1915 in Baird, Texas to Daniel Sydney and Ocie Ola (Asbury) McGee. She and Olen B. Brown were married on March 6, 1936 in Cisco, Texas. She was a teacher. Her husband, parents, sister, Ola Bess James and three brothers, John, Jack, and Daniel McGee preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Rust of Giddings, granddaughter, Sherrie Newman of New Braunfels, grandson, Patric Rust of Giddings; two great grandchildren, Cortney and Olen Tyler Newman of New Braunfels and multiple beloved extended family and friends. Funeral services will be on August 5, 2007 at 1:00 pm in the Jal City Cemetery in Jal, New Mexico. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Giddings or the charity of choice. Mrs. Brown was known for her leading rolls in the Eastern Star, the WCS Methodist Women's Association, The Bridge Club and as a founder of the Golden Agers Senior Citizens Center in Jal, New Mexico.
