Jack Harlen Bass, 70, of Lake Placid and formerly Holmes Beach, Flordia, died June 25. Born in DeQuincy, La., Mr. Bass came to Holmes Beach from Louisiana in 1963, then moved to Lake Placid seven years ago. He was the former owner of Jack Bass Marine Construction in Holmes Beach. He was a former Holmes Beach city commissioner. He wa a member of Manatee Masonic Lodge #31 and F. & AM of Bradenton. He was an avid outdoorsman. Memorial services will be at 6pm Wednesday, June 30, at Brown & Sons Funeral Home, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton. He is survived by campanion Pat Bricker, daughters Peggy Berger, Joyce Van Ostenbridge and Julie Hunnicutt, all of Bradeton, son Charles of Bradenton; borther Carl Bailey of Bradenton; mother Sylvia Bailey of Dequincy; one granddaughter and three grandsons.
