According to the California County Death Records, Franklin Godfrey's occupation was a painter and he lived in Artesia, Los Angeles County, California. He had lived in Artesia for the last 10 years, before he died of Angina Pectoris. His marital status was "Never married" and he was cremated on Dec. 17, 1952 at the L.A. County Crematory, L.A. County General Hospital. His mother Martha "Mattie" Emily Laws/Godfrey's obituary mentioned several of her children by initials only. She died in Texas, in the home of her son R. H. Godfrey (Reuben Hawkins Godfrey). Others mention were A. A. Godfrey (Augustus Allen Godfrey), a P. F. Godfrey (Unknown), I'm wondering if this isn't Franklin, because it also mentioned that he was in Los Angeles. There is an M. D. Godfrey of Los Angeles mentioned as well that I haven't been able to identify yet. Two more of Franklin's siblings are mention and living in Raymondville, Willacy County, Texas. One of them being J. W. Godfrey (James W. Godfrey) and a W. L. Godfrey (Wylie Litton Godfrey), who is my great grandfather.
