U S Army Richland Hills - Bertis Franklin Autrey, Jr went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He was 86. Bertis was born October 7, 1934 in the Smithfield community to Bertis Autrey, Sr. and Bessie Linnie Autrey. He grew up in the Smithfield area and graduated from Carter Riverside High School in 1953. After High School he served in the Army. On April 28, 1961, he married the love of his life, Rosalee with whom he shared 59 wonderful years. On December 18, 1961, he joined the Fort Worth Fire Department which he proudly served for 33 years. He retired in 1994. He enjoyed his career and loved helping people and loved his Fire Department family. He was a member of Richland Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Suzanne. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rosalee, sons Vic and David, and sister Pat Autrey, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
