Earl Sexton, 104 BLOOMINGTON — Earl Sexton, 104, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on November 2, 2020. Earl was born February 4, 1916 in Smithville, Indiana and he was the son of Perry and Daisy (Head) Sexton. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1936. Earl married Dorothy Cook on January 7, 1937 and she preceded him in death in 1972. Earl was in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) after high school until he married Dorothy in 1937. Earl then worked for Indiana University from 1938-1939, he was then in the Merchant Marines from 1940-1944. Earl then retired from the Chemistry Department at Indiana University as a scientific glass blower where he worked from 1945 until retiring in 1985. Survivors include his son, Richard Sexton & his wife Beth. Grandchildren Kathryn Sexton Kovacs, Thomas Sexton & Brandon Sexton. Great grand children Amy Kovacs, Sarah (Kovacs) Grzywacz (Darren) , Jared Kovacs, great great grandchildren Chloe Saloga, Marc Anthony Huntsman & Lydia Grzywacz. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy; sisters, Flora Anderson, Lola Fulford and Elsie Southern; brothers, William Everett Sexton and Horace "Dutch" Sexton, grandson Richard Alan Sexton. & grandson in law Mike Kovacs.Due to Covid-19, a small private graveside service was held on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
