Bio

His mother was Nancy E Phillips born in Smith County, Tennessee. Marriage records shows she married Elijah Peak in Smith County 11 Oct 1885. He was her only Peak child. Mrs. H. D. Lemon was informant on his death certificate who stated she did not know who his parents were. Nancy E "Peake" then married John J Brown in Hopkins County, Texas 29 Mar 1894. They came to Hopkins County with Nancy's parents, William Washington Phillips and Matilda Durham. 1900 Hopkins County, Texas John J Brown, 31 born Texas Nancy C Brown, 35 born Tennessee John F Peak age 13 born TN stepson Mary L Brown age 5 Daisy M Brown age 3 Bonnie R Brown age 1 J F Peak married Martha Lou Etheridge, 27 Oct 1909 Hopkins County (born TN about 1894) Mary Elenor Peak Bledsaw Ake 1911 - 1996 Pearl Aline Peak McClendon 1914 - 2005 Annie Bell Peak Lemon 1918 - 2003 Elva Gertrude Peak Helton Adams 1922 - 1992 The 1940 census shows J F Peak was residing with his aunt Julia Phillips Vandergriff and her husband James Isaac Vandergriff who was Johnnie's employer.
