K. L. Johnson, 73 of Cuervo, NM, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. K. L. was born on January 16, 1947 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Therald "Jeff" Johnson and Muriel (McFarland) Johnson. K. L. was raised in Texhoma, Oklahoma where he also attended school. He moved to Dumas, Texas in 1981 and married his beloved wife, Kristi, in 1982. Together, K. L. and Kristi moved to Wagon Mound, NM to ranch, later moving to Tucumcari, NM in 1994 and continued to ranch there. In 2006 they moved to Cuervo, NM to ranch on the Bedford Ranch which K. L. "dearly loved and where he passed away." K. L. served his country in the U.S. Army where he received an honorable discharge and later remained a part of the National Guard. Furthermore, K. L. 's true passion was ranching. K. L. is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Vernon Johnson and Tom Johnson a sister; Robbie Johnson, and his Mother-in -law and Father-in-law K. L. is survived by his loving wife; Kristi of the family home as well as many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mr. Johnson's care has been entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
