James Douglas Bryan August 27, 1933 - October 11, 2020 Memorial Services for James Douglas Bryan, age 87, of Bonham, Texas will be held at Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Rex Jackson will officiate. A private inurnment will be held at Burns Cemetery in Trenton, Texas at a later date. James passed away Sunday evening, October 11, 2020 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas. James was born on August 27, 1933 in Renner, Texas, the son of Silas Abner Bryan Sr. and Rebecca Miles Bryan. He joined the United States Army and was a radio operator during the Korean War. He served in the Army Reserves for a number of years. James earned a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree while serving in the Army. James liked being outdoors. He spent much time sailing, fishing and camping. After he retired from the oil industry, he enjoyed helping his friends with farming. His greatest treasures were his grandchildren; he loved them dearly and greatly enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas for many years. James is preceded in death by his parents and five sisters, Grace, Ruthie, Dorothy, Bette, and Ruby. He is survived by his sons, Joe Bryan and his wife Linda of Van Alstyne, Texas and Jay Bryan and his wife Laurie of Sherman, Texas; brother, Silas Bryan Jr. and his wife Lila of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren, Jeannine Bryan, Alyssa Bryan, Jennifer Bryan, Andrew Bryan, Shawn Bryan, and Sharla Baker and husband Adam; great grandchildren, Jordan Bradley, Justin Bradley, Jayden Bryan, and Lauryn Jozefiak.
