Janice Matysek, 47, of Taylor died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at her residence. Rosary will be recited at 6 PM, Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor. Celebration of Life Mass will be 2 PM, Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor with Rev. Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Janice Marie Matysek was born on June 14, 1955 to Alfred and Evelyn (Roznovak) Matysek in Taylor, Texas. Janice was a lifelong resident of Taylor and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had been the department manager and receiving manager of Super S Food Store in Taylor before its closing. Janice enjoyed cooking as well as her love of arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her new grandson, Justin. Janice also had a special love for her dogs, Coco and Annie. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. Her survivors include her husband, Ralph Faykus of Taylor; her daughter, Kimberly Hammack and husband, Michael of Taylor; brother, Marvin Matysek of Taylor; sister, Shirley Fretwell and husband, Wayne of Alabama and a grandson, Justin Hammack. Pallbearers will be Ray Matysek, Alvin Faykus, Glenn Faykus, Tom Nemec, Claude Roznovak and Wayne Roznovak. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Hammack.
