Bio

Linda Kaye Kotrla. On Tuesday, August 6, 2002, Linda Kaye Kotrla put on her angel wings and joined her heavenly Father. Her heart-rending battle with leukemia ended after thirteen months. She fought as hard as she could, but for reasons we will never know this courageous woman will now live on in spirit rather than in body. Linda was born on January 1, 1950, in Taylor, Texas, to Tim David, Sr. and Vlasta (Machac) David. Linda was a devoted wife of 35 years to Clifton and a loving mother to Gene and Darwa. She was a caring mother-in-law to Kasey, wife of Gene and Thomas Webb, husband of Darwa. She was "Franny" to Darwa s daughters, Julie Kotrla and Lori Talley. She thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and prayed to be able to see her granddaughters grow up. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers: Kathy Green and husband Steve, JoAnn Brabandt and husband Dennis, Sharon Holmes and husband Jesse, Patty David, Tim David, Jr. and wife Lynda, and Bobby David and wife Lisa. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Linda s family was her reason for being. She devoted her time to making sure they knew how much she loved them. She and Bettie Pope opened B & L Botique at Linda s home in 1979 and most recently she and her daughter Darwa operated the Botique. She was well-known and respected in the local community. She was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Linda was an avid gardener and was well-known for being one of the best cooks around. Clifton was certainly proof of that. She was also a caring friend and there are simply not enough words to express how much she will be missed. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Darwin David. Rosary will be recited at 7 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Celebration of Life Mass will be 2 PM, Friday at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, west of Granger. Memorials may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School, P O Box 608, Granger, TX. 76530 Pallbearers will be her nephews; Brandon David, Byron David, Brad David, KC David, Kash David, Robbie David and Brent David. An online tribute has been established to celebrate the life of Linda Kaye Kotrla at www.Providencefuneralhome.com
