NOT buried in Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens, Meridian, Ada, ID ----------------------------------------- Ed Baggett passed away suddenly on April 11, 2017 at St Luke's Hospital in Boise, ID. He was born in Harrold, TX on April 24, 1931. As a teenager, he relocated to California to work alongside his brother in law to learn the tricks of the mechanics trade. He then joined the Air Force in Feb 4, 1952 to put that knowledge to work. He was very proud of his time spent in the service as a Sr. Propeller Mechanic. He often said "If it had a propeller on it, I worked on it." A man of few words, if you wanted to get Ed to talk, you just had to ask about his time in Germany with the Air Force. He would light up and tell you story after story from his Air Force days. Later in life he took to the road, driving truck all over the nation for 30 plus years, until he retired in 1993. On April 12, 1974 he married Blanche (Gembala) Malcom and gained two step children, John & Lorrie. Ed and Blanche spent several years in Price, UT where he hauled coal for the mines. They moved back to the Treasure Valley in the late 80's and eventually settled in Sand Hollow, ID where they lived together until Blanche's passing in summer of 2006. Although Ed had no biological children, he took John and Lorrie in and loved them as his own. And he loved being the grandpa when they had children of their own. He often got scolded for taking the grandkids out for ice cream just before dinner. Often! He was proud of his family and gladly supported them all in their life endeavors. He was also close to and adored his nieces, Beverly and Gloria. Ed is survived by his step children and their families - John & Gar Malcom, sons Brad Lentsch and Sam Malcom; Lorrie & Jeff Crose, daughter April Frazier, son JD Frazier (wife Hannah and daughter Hope), nieces Beverly Thompson (TX) and Gloria Cusick (CA). A private memorial will be held in early May in Star, ID.
