Bio

In the 1880 census, Claud was listed as 6 years old, so birth could have been 1874. Census takers did not always calculate years accurately, and sometimes if a person was not home a neighbor might give the census taker the information. The obituary that the family placed in the paper in 1936 lists his birth year as 1876; his death certificate and date on headstone support the birth year of 1876.
