Leda Cervenka, 94, of Granger, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Johns Community Hospital. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Monday at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 11 AM, Tuesday at Granger Brethren Church with Rev. Albert Michalik officiating. Burial to follow at Granger City Cemetery. Leda Anna Cervenka was born June 26, 1909 to Frank and Frances (Trlica) Vitek. She was a member of the Granger Brethren Church, Eastern Star #836, Brethren Christian Sisters, American Legion Auxiliary and SPJST #20. Leda worked at the Twin Shop as a sales clerk for many years. She married Joe R. Cervenka on March 8, 1942 in Granger. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe R. Cervenka; her son, Clarence Cervenka; and a brother, Victor "Peanut" Vitek. The family extends a special "Thank You" to the staff of Granger Villa Nursing Home for their love and kindness shown to Leda Cervenka. She was very happy being part of Granger Villa. Leda is survived by her sister, Vallye Krolczyk of Houston and numerous other family members.
