Funeral services for Don Hicks, 67, of Levelland will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at Fifth St. Baptist Church, Levelland with Rev. Roy Prather, Pastor, and Rev. Merle Fulmer, pastor, LakeRidge Baptist Church, Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home. He died at 7:55 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock. Born on March 19, 1940 in Levelland to Guy and Ila Mae Hicks and he was a lifelong resident of Hockley county. He graduated from Levelland High School in 1958 and then attended South Plains College. He served in the National Guard. He married Karen Jo McDonald on July 28, 2000 at San Angelo, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of Fifth St. Baptist Church, Levelland. Survivors include, his wife, Karen Jo Hicks of Levelland; a son, Blake Hicks of Brownfield, Texas; a daughter, Missy Hicks-Overman of Levelland and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mack Hicks in 1990.
