Memorial Obituary of Elizabeth Belle Case Robertson Elizabeth Belle Case was born Sept. 9, 1863 in Benson, Ill., and died Nov 20, 1942 at the age of 79 years. She was married to John L. Robertson at Allendale, MO. Jan. 7, 1883. She united with the Baptist Church in her childhood and was one of the early pillars of the Allendale Church. Until failing health forced her to withdraw from active participation, she was most unselfish in devoting her services to church and community. "Aunt Belle", as she was known to a host of friends and former students, taught piano and organ in Allendale for almost half a century. Many of Worth County's leading music teachers are among her former students. She received her musical training in Chicago and for a number of years, together with her brothers and sisters, conducted the old time singing schools throughout southern Iowa and northern Missouri. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Maybelle Casey of Chicago; two sons, Karl of Wichita, Kansas, and Linnie of Decatur, Ill. She leaves also one sister, Mrs. Mae Kater of Mt. Ayr, IA; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. One son, Claude, of Des Moines, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held from the Allendale Baptist Church with Rev. Ben R. Sullivan in charge. Burial in Allendale Cemetery. Source: The Times-Tribune, Grant City, Missouri, December 2, 1942
