Bio
Carolyn Ruth Martin entered the gates of heaven February 15, 2004 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 10 am, Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Highway 95 Church of Christ with Tim Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at 2 pm at Cookwalden Capital Memorial Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. She was born on April 28, 1945 in Maypearl, Texas. The family moved to Round Rock, Texas in 1951, where she attended school and was a member of the Church of Christ. In 1982 Carolyn moved to Taylor, Texas with her own family. Carolyn worked many years at Mid-Tex Loan Company and Taylor Fitness Center. She was previously married to L.G. Atkinson and the late Perry Hester. Preceding her in death was her brother Charles Rodger and parents Claude (C.J.) and Earline Miller. She is survived by her husband, Scott Martin; sons, James Atkinson, Mitchell Atkinson and wife Carolyn, Perry Hester, Jason Martin and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Carol Carpenter and husband, Michael, Jolie Winters and husband Jerry, and Kristen Martin; two brothers, James Miller and wife Kathy of Arlington, Texas and David Miller of Granger, Texas; Carolyn also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She will be deeply missed at the many gathering in her home around the kitchen table with family and friends. Everyone who knew her will forever love and cherish her in their hearts. .
