DENSON SPRINGS - Services for Joan Moore Watkins, 66, Denson Springs, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Denson Springs Baptist Church with Brother Kevin Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Denson Springs Cemetery under direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine. Mrs. Watkins died Sept. 16, 2007, at her residence. She was born Sept. 16, 1941, in Swanson Hill community to the late Howard E. and Ruth Hill Moore. She taught in high school and college for many years, and was a member of Denson Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by grandson, James Bishop; great-granddaughter, Karys Henderson; and brother, Howard Moore Jr. Survivors include her husband, R.P. "Pack" Watkins, Denson Springs; daughters, Mary Jo Henderson, McKinney, and Kathy Elton, Frankston; son, Roy Paxton Watkins Jr., Denson Springs; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers are Chad Minton, Ben Missildine, Joe Bishop, Jess Bishop, Brailyed Summers and Noah Summers. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
