Bio

Mary Ann Hendrix, 79, passed away September 10, 2017, at Seton Williamson Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born March 24, 1938, in Littlefield, Texas, to Stanley and Wilma (Dubec) Vrana. Mary grew up in Granger, Texas, and attended St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic School and Granger Schools. She married George Hendrix on March 16, 1957. They were married for over 39 years until George passed away in 1996. Their marriage produced four children, all of whom survive her. Mary and George raised their children in Austin, Holland, and Noack. Mary was a homemaker during the early years of her marriage. They ran the Zieschang Bar and Café for many years together in Noack, Texas. She also worked as a waitress at Curve Inn and Randy's Ice House in Taylor, Texas. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George Howard Hendrix; her parents, Stanley and Wilma Vrana; a sister, Martha Ann Stefek; three brothers, Rudy Vrana, Stanley Vrana, and Frank Vrana; and a son-in-law, Mark Balduff. Mary is survived by her children, George Hendrix Jr. and Debbie, James Hendrix and Janeane, Barbara Balduff, and Nancy Krenek and Mark. Also, grandchildren, Chad Hendrix and Tracy, Caresse Fralicker and JD, Kristina Hendrix and Zack, Ryan Hendrix and Brittany, Stephanie Vasquez, Tosha Ornelas and Mannie, Kaitlin Balduff, Haley Krenek, Riley Krenek, Brandy Konarsky and Chet, Nichole Arzola and Albert, Casey Tanzini and Anthony, and Josh Balduff and Ashley; and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Marcella Neal; a twin brother, Joe Vrana; and brothers, Willie Vrana and Johnny Vrana. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seton Williamson for their kind and compassionate care. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Providence Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chad Hendrix, Ryan Hendrix, JD Fralicker, Mannie Ornelas, Norman Frey, and JB Briones.
