John D. Cejka 80, Lincoln, died Monday (9/3/07). Born Valparaiso, Neb. (1/9/1927) to John L. and Agnes (Kliment) Cejka. Ret. Forklift operator - Goodyear Tire & Rubber Manufacturing Plant. WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. Served in the military for 33 years. Grew up on a farm outside of Weston. Employed at Goodyear for 47 years. Member: American Legion Post #308 in Weston; inducted into the Nebraska Bowling Hall of Fame; retired member - United Steel Workers. Liked trap shooting and fishing trips to Canada. Enjoyed baseball and his grandchildren. Visitation: From 9 a.m. - 9 p.m, Wednesday at Roper & Sons Funeral Care, 4300 "O" Street. Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, (9/6/07) at Northeast United Church of Christ, 6200 Adams Street with Pastor Melissa Finlaw-Draper officiating. Family Gathering: A family greeting is not scheduled. Cemetery: Fairview Cemtery, 84th & Adams Streets, Lincoln. Memorials: To the church. Family members include: wife, Ann; sons, daughters-in-law: John C. and Carrie Cejka; Brian and Dyana Cejka all of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, John, Jillian and Matthew Cejka; Jennifer, Emily, Sarah and Katie Cejka; sister, Adeline Bauer, Lincoln; brother: Larry Cejka, Wahoo; sister-in-law, Frances Cejka, Wahoo; nephews, Todd, Chris, Bryce Cejka; Gary Bauer. Preceded in death by parents, brothers, Clarence and Donald Cejka, nephews, Jeffrey and Dean Cejka.
