Lincoln Journal Star (NE) - Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Sylvia Theresa Dalka, 85, Lincoln, died Monday (1/12/09) in Lincoln. Sylvia was born on July 31, 1923 in Omaha, Neb. to Anton & Albina Jakub. Retired Senior Secretary of the LT&T Engineering Department. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and Altar Society; Auxiliary and Ladies of the Holy Eucharist at the Pink Sisters Adoration Convent and a member of the Lincoln Telephone Pioneers. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Judith Prazak & husband, Wayne, North Canton, Ohio; Kathryn Raymond & husband, Gary, Lincoln; son, Mark Dalka & wife, Nancy, Lincoln; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, George Jakub, North Quincy, Mass.; sister, Eleanore Kobza, Lincoln; sister-in-law, Gladys Jakub, Lincoln; and nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward L. Dalka; four brothers & one sister. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday (1/15/09) at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Lincoln with Father Doug Dietrich & Monsignor Joseph Nemec officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park.
