Burniece Marie Kahl 1913 - 2007 Burniece Marie Kahl May 5, 1913 - Sept. 8, 2007 Burniece was the first daughter born to George Washington Hodges and Nannie May Hodges in Dodd City, Fannin County, Texas. She married Lee Kahl on January 18, 1934, in Texas. Burniece and Lee had one daughter, Connie Lee born on July 18, 1936, in Vernon, Texas. She later moved with her family to Long Beach, CA, in 1936, before moving to Bakersfield, CA, May 1, 1948. She was a resident of Bakersfield until her death. Burniece was a loving mother who loved to cook and travel. She lost her husband, Lee, on March 29, 1995, and her parents; brothers, Mark and Little George; and sisters, Charlene and Ophelia. Burniece is survived by her daughter, Connie and husband, Sonny Wisian of Bakersfield; along with her only living sister, Reedie B. Wyatt of Bakersfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing is Wednesday, September 12th, from 4-8 p.m., with services on Thursday, September 13th, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park &Mortuary.
