Lorna was the daughter of Joe and Pearl Taylor King. She shares a stone with her husband, Johnny Eldon Woodard Sr. OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Monday, 21 July 1997: Lorna Woodard Services for Lorna Woodard, 59, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Herrington-Land of Memory Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Bass officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart under the direction of the Herrington-Land of Memory Funeral Home. Mrs. Woodard died Sunday at the Trinity Valley Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1938 in Corpus Christi. She was a housewife and a Baptist, and had worked for the Salvation Army and the Best Western Hotel restaurant. She had lived in Palestine since moving to the city from Buffalo in 1978. She is survived by her husband, Johnny; son Gary, of Kilgore; daughters, Cynthia Marie Savell and Brenda Sue Woodard; brothers, John King of Houston, Joe King of Corpus Christi, sister Jo Ann King of Corpus Christi and 12 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Cody Woodard, Johnny Woodard, Ron Prell, Jim Savell, Craig Lightcap and Johnny Savell. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Herrington-Land of Memory.
