Mildred Srnensky, 74, of Taylor died October 26, 2004 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Thursday, October 28 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of life services will be Friday, 10 AM at Taylor Brethren Church with Rev. James Hejl officiating. Burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery. Mildred was born January 5, 1930 in Taylor, Texas to Herman and Ellen (Rydell) Senkel. Mildred attended Turkey Creek, Waterloo, & Thrall Schools, graduating from Holland High School. She married Joe B. Srnensky on January 16, 1949 in Bartlett, Texas and they were blessed with five children, 3 daughters and 2 sons. Mildred was a member of the Taylor Brethren Church. She was, as her mother before her, a wonderful gardener. Her love of birds and flowers was evident as she always had blooming flowers or birds present in her life. She continued the tradition, love and art of quilting from her mother and she leaves behind a legacy of her handwork for her family to cherish. Each stitch made is a tribute of the love she had for all of them. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ellen Senkel and a brother, Hubert Senkel. Mildred is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe B. Srnensky, sons, Sidney Srnensky of Taylor, Stephen Srnensky and wife Jackie of Taylor, daughters, Sharon Wilkerson and husband Doug of Taylor, Rhonda Carnley and husband Alan, of Georgetown, and Shelia Devore and husband Warren of Ulysses, Kansas, grandchildren, Stefan Srnensky, Spencer Srnensky, Selene Srnensky, Chris Godwin, Sara Srnensky, Paige Wilkerson, Haley Wilkerson, Clayton Carnley, Allix Carnley, Wyatt Devore, Ashley Devore and numerous other family members. Pallbearers will be Daryl Eschberger, Allen Martinets, Phillip Eschberger, John Ward, Ed Stevens, Doug Wilkerson, Tim Rydell, and Ron Senkel. Memorials may be made to the Taylor Brethren Church, 710 Sloan, Taylor, Texas in Mildred's memory.
