Bio

Annie Angeline Adelle Maly Michalik, 91, of Georgetown passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Funeral Services November 1, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Brethren Church with burial at Taylor City Cemetery. Annie Angeline Adelle Maly Michalik, 91, of Georgetown, returned to her heavenly home on October 26, 2016, after a short period of declining health. Annie was born to Edwin & Albina (Simcik) Maly in Taylor, Texas, on July 22, 1925. She was baptized, confirmed, and taught Sunday School classes at the Taylor Brethren Church, of which she was a life-time member. Annie was a 1944 graduate of Taylor High School and found vocational passion through the successful completion of Brackenridge Nursing School in 1954, becoming a registered nurse. Yet what thrilled her most was marrying the love of her life, the Rev. Albert Michalik on July 31, 1960. Annie felt God's pleasure in serving the church through leading the Christian Sisters, supporting mission work, teaching youth and young adult Sunday School classes, volunteering as Hus School Encampment nurse, and singing in the choir. There was not a Sunday School room that Annie didn't want to give a fresh coat of paint. Annie was proud of her Czech heritage, traveling to the homeland three times, speaking the language throughout her years and singing on the Taylor Czech Choir debut CD. Many church fund-raisers felt the onslaught of hand crafted sock monkeys which Annie enjoyed making. Annie is survived by her husband, two sons, two grandchildren, three sisters, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews; and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elsie VanLehn; and brother, Milton Maly. (Providence Funeral Home Obituary and Notice)
