Bio

Lee Ann (Hill) Wilson was born October 17th, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota during the height of the Great Depression. With family members by her side, Lee Ann passed on October 26th, 2019 in Huntsville, Alabama. Although Minnesotan by birth, Lee Ann was a Texan by choice, moving with her mom (Alta) and brother (Arlen) to Dallas, Texas so that they could be closer to her mom's large, supportive family of eight sisters ("the Harvey girls") and benefit from the economic opportunities that the Dallas area presented, as World War II loomed. In 1954, Lee Ann proudly graduated from Crozier Tech High School in downtown Dallas, where she was chosen as a class favorite. While living in Dallas, Lee Ann worked at A. Harris Department Store (later Sanger-Harris) and also for Republic Bank (which at the time, was the tallest and most innovative building project west of the Mississippi) in the loan department. In 1956, while attending the State Fair of Texas, she met her eventual husband (SFC L.G. Wilson), who was at the State Fair recruiting for the US Army Airborne. Married two weeks later (and for 45 years overall), three sons followed as Lee Ann and her family traveled the world. After stops in Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Washington D.C., Georgia and Germany, Lee Ann and her family made their best and final move, settling in Huntsville, Alabama in 1972. Lee Ann loved many things (Crozier Tech High School reunions, Schultzie and Ozzie - her long-haired dachshunds, the Dallas Cowboys, seeing the Texas Bluebonnets bloom in March, attending the State Fair of Texas in September and ESPECIALLY Elvis Presley - she filled an entire room of her house with Elvis records and memorabilia) but her greatest love was her family. Lee Ann had an infectious smile, tender soul and giving heart. She loved spending time with her family, and with her witty fun-loving personality, she truly never met a stranger. Lee Ann will always be remembered for making others smile. Lee Ann loved life and loved everyone in her life, to the fullest extent. Also, Lee Ann was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville and regularly volunteered in the children's ministry.
