Demuth, Richard Leo Passed away Thursday, May 4, 2006, after a courageous 11 month battle against cancer. His unwavering faith, attitude, and humor in dealing with his illness was a source of inspiration for many. Rick was born June 8, 1953 in Kimball, Nebraska to Geraldine (Schadegg) and Clement Demuth. His family moved to El Segundo when he was four years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geri; his sister, Patricia; and his nephew, Michael Dennell. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Debra Marie; beloved daughters, Jennifer Henseler (Travis Sine), Michelle, Theresa, and Stacey (Michael Wilson); and son, Robert; grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew Henseler, Tyler and Thor Sine, and Michael Wilson. He is also survived by his brothers, Anthony (Betty), Thomas, Jim (Carol), Gerald (Debra); 15 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces, grandnephews, and Godchildren. Rick attended St. Anthony Elementary School, St. Bernard High School, El Camino, and Dominguez Hills. He worked at the Chevron Refinery (pipefitter), Hughes Aircraft, and the Santa Monica-Malibu School District (Facilities Management). Rick's greatest joy was spending time with his family and walking with his wife. He loved running 10Ks and marathons, riding in century bike rides, playing volleyball and coaching soccer. He was very active at St. Anthony School and St. Anthony Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Rosary and Visitation was held Friday, May 5, 2006 with the Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church in El Segundo and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City on Saturday.
