Thomas David Cowan, 59, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Memorial Service: The family is in the process of planning a service with social distancing practices in mind. David, known affectionately as "Cowboy" to many, was born June 30, 1960 in Bonham, Texas to Tom Cowan and Francis Carr of Nobility, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Diana Cowan; and niece, Sara. David is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rita E. Cowan; daughter, Amber Cowan and wife, Rebecca of Richmond, VA; sisters, Margaret Cowan of Nobility, Sandra Bell and husband, David of Leonard; step-children, Amanda Long and husband, Shane, Daniel Wagnon and wife, Andrea, Amelia Showalter, Audrey Showalter, Brittney Karr and husband, Jeremy, Amber Showalter, and Amy Beard; grandchildren, Michaela, Baileigh, Chalise, Amarissa, Hannah, Jacob, Bethany, Desirae, Kiersten, Jordan, and Parker; as well as nephews, Clint Cowan and Clayton Kemp; and many extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Georgetown Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Hancock officiating in Pottsboro, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to FFA or 4H in your area. David was loved and will be deeply missed by many. The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of support during this difficult time. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
