Bertha Dempsey, 100, of Robinson, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, in Waco. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shelton Marcum officiating. Interment will follow at Younger Cemetery. Bertha Lucy was born in Ranger, Texas, to the late James M. and Ollie Farmer. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Dempsey; son-in-law, Oscar Grisham; brothers, Arthur Farmer, Tommy Farmer, Leslie Farmer and Johnny Farmer; and sisters, Fannie Woods and Alice Slaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Grisham, of Robinson; grandsons, Tom Grisham, and Don Grisham and wife, Jamie, all of Robinson; great-granddaughters, Mandy and Christy Grisham, of Robinson; great-grandson, Trent Grisham, of Robinson; nieces, Eloise Tickle, of Bellmead, and Audrey Smith, of Dallas; nephew, Guy Farmer, of Corsicana; cousin, Freda Smith, of Waco; and numerous other cousins.
