OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Friday, 1 April 1983: Funeral services for James Eldon Ross, 21, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Bailey Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Bill Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart. Mr. Ross died Wednesday in Parklands Hospital in Dallas. He was born Oct. 10, 1961, in Palestine. He attended Palestine public schools and was employed by the Holiday Inn Corporation in Dallas. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Laura Gail Reynolds Ross of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Jo Anna Ross Dean of Elkhart; a brother, William Ray Spence of Palestine, and two aunts, Mrs. Lota Pearl Dickey and Mrs. Eloise Prather, both of Dallas. Pallbearers will be Steve Guiser, Ed Townley, Michael Dean, David Harris, Joe Riddle and Clyde Amick. Condolence calls will be received at the Harris residence in Elkhart.
