OBITUARY Emil Charles Krikac DECEMBER 31, 1920 – OCTOBER 21, 2019 Emil Charles Krikac went to meet his Heavenly Father on October 21, 2019. He was born December 31, 1920 to Frank and Julia Krikac in Comstock Custer, Nebraska. His parents were from Czechoslovakia. Emil was first generation American born. Emil was raised on a farm in Nebraska, with his three siblings, Charles, Lilian, and Wilma. During his childhood, Emil learned to play several instruments such as the violin, drums, and accordion. Emil attended the University of Nebraska, for a short period of time, before he joined the United States Army. He served from 1942-1946, as a sergeant. During World War II, he spent part of his service working on bombers and radio equipment. While in the army Emil married Betty Maxine Strong in 1946. After his stint in the Army, Emil and Betty returned to Nebraska. He and Betty had two of their three children, Bruce 1953, and Julie 1956 while living in Nebraska. In 1958, Emil moved his family to Renton, Washington where they had their third child, Susan 1959. Emil’s experience in the Army, helped him acquire his job at Boeing. He worked as a machinist for 28 years (1957-1985). Emil took great pride in his flower garden and yard. He spent endless hours tending to his flowers, especially his tulips, gladioluses and roses. He shared his love of hunting, fishing and camping with his family. But music was his one true passion. Throughout his life, Emil performed with various people and groups. He played his accordion well into his 90’s. He can be found on YouTube performing Polka music. Emil was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Julia Krikac; his wife, Betty Maxine Krikac (1985); his son, Bruce (1984); and his daughter, Julie Willoughby (2019). Emil is survived by daughter, Susan Krikac; grandson, Wes Willoughby; granddaughter, Sara (Willoughby) Corder; granddaughter, Savanah Hild; great-grandson, Sean Willoughby; great-grandson, Chaz Corder; great-granddaughter, Brooke Corder and great-granddaughter, Little Missy; as well as several extended family and friends.
