Born to Rev. Calvin Philley (1806-1882) & his first wife, Martha Lucretia Harley Philley (1807-1847). The 1850, 1860 & 1880 censuses show Caroline's birth as Kentucky. Caroline married Christopher Columbus Stevens (1828-1886) on Oct. 4, 1848, in Chickasaw County, MS. Ten children: Mary Elizabeth Stevens Bowling (1849-1914) John Calvin Stevens (1850-1885) Carrie Lubertha "Bertha" Stevens Bowling (1853-1900) Frances Ann Stevens Cowley (1854-1914) Moses Joshua Stevens (1855-1936) Samuel David Stevens (1856-1933) Thomas Jefferson Stevens (1859-1915) Mary Stevens (1862-after 1880) William Henry Stevens (1866-1924) Jane Stevens (1868-after 1880)
