Bio

Shady Breezes. Called Home. Clyde, second son of J.S. Lawrence, a youth of 19, was left at 11 years of age without a mother's care. But for a youth of his age was endowed with a character and disposition seldom found in a motherless boy. A pleasant word, a smile for all, courteous, Gentlemanly, honest and hardworking, without a vice. He was thoughtful and studious with ambitiose ideas of a higher life with a thorough knowledge of the world and its ways in a business sense were his aims. The family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community at large. Newspaper Mena Star September 5,1907 Newspaper Mena Star September 12,1907 In Memorium. In memory of Daniel C. Lawrence. Was born September 2,1888, and departed this life August 31,1907. Was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Lawrence. After an illness of three weeks he quietly passed away. He leaves a father, three sisters, five brothers and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Clyde has left evidence the he has gone to a better world than this.. He possessed some excellent qualities. He store of wit and humor spread sunshine where ever he went. It almost breaks our hearts to know that Clyde's merry voice can never be heard around the fireside any more and when we look for him we see him not, but let us be submissive to the inevitable. Let our faith overleap our boundaries of the grave and view the eternal world where the glorified are at rest. We will hope and believe that some time, somewhere those lips that tell us good night here will joyfully bid us a good morning there. While we feel that earth has lost a true friend we are sure that heaven has gained a precious jewel; so let us all live such a life as to be prepared when death comes to us to meet over on the golden shore with those who have gone before his brother in Christ. Robert F. Hampton, Shady, Ark., Sept. 2.
