He was a field service mechanic for Sellers Tractor for 27 years, retiring in 1979. Survivors include his wife, Martha L. Pahls, Salina, KS; two sons, Casper P. Pahls, Salina, KS; Christopher J. Pahls, Salina, KS ; two daughters, Elizabeth O'Bryn, Wichita, KS; Mary Lynn Weiss, Windsor, MO; two brothers, Lawrence Pahls, Salina, KS; Merwyn Pahls, Beloit, KS; five sisters, Helen Blado, Great Bend, KS; Deloris Powell, McPherson, KS; Angela Falting, Florida; Lillian Harris, Bosior Clty, LA; Rosemary Deneke, Beloit, KS; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
