Martha Myrtle Kitchens, 76, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2020, in Ennis, Texas. Burial will be at Myrtle Cemetery. Martha was born on November 14, 1943, in Ben Wheeler, Texas, to the late Jessie Franklin and Oma Dell (Lovejoy) Graham. She grew up in Colfax and graduated from Van High School. Martha received her Master’s in Education from East Texas State University. On November 26, 1969, she married Thomas F. Kitchens and they made their home in Ennis. Martha taught various elementary grades for the Ennis Independent School District for over 29 years. Martha was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Palmer and Retired Teachers of Ennis. Martha enjoyed reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Kitchens; three brothers; and a sister. Survivors include her son, Matthew Kitchens and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, James and Naomi; sister, Anne Huff; other extended family, friends, and students. Z5
