Bio

Samuel Arden Dobbins, 58, died unexpectedly June 30, 2020 in Rawlins, Wyoming. Sam was born in Spokane, Washington to Stan and Alice M. (Harriman) Dobbins, September 30, 1961. The family moved to McCall Idaho in the late 60s where Sam attended school, graduating with the class of 1980 at McCall-Donnelly High School. He developed a passion for automobiles and would work for hours rebuilding multiple vehicles all the while going to school and working for his parents at the family business, Stan’s Auto Parts. Sam also studied electronics at ITT and never lost his love of cars to which he made a career of as an automotive technician. He married Nancy Shriver in May of 1981. Their son, Seth Allen Dobbins, was born August 31, 1987. Throughout his life, Sam had an avid interest in Chevy pickups, Camaros, and Corvettes, camping, dirt bikes, shooting, basketball, and airsoft games with his son. Sam was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. Some of those friendships have spanned over fifty years. Sam spent much of time with his son both working with and their shared hobbies. His unconditional love for Seth was reflected by many years of sacrifice and support. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Stanley Dobbins. He is survived by his siblings and their children - Steven Dobbins, Diana Whitman, and Scott Dobbins, and his son Seth Dobbins. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the McCall Cemetery, McCall, Idaho.
