Anita Joe Johnson McAfee Anita Joe Johnson McAfee, age 54, of Leesville, Louisiana, passed from her earthly life to be with her Lord on Monday, July 28, 2003. She was a former resident of Carrollton and Waxahachie, Texas. She fought a courageous battle of 23 years with breast cancer. She was pre-deceased in death by her parents, Neal and Jewell Johnson of Leesville. She is survived by her husband, Tom McAfee of Leesville; one son, Beau Gray, daughter-in-law, Carrie Gray, grandchildren, Savannah Gray, Steel Gray and Major Gray, all of Marion, Illinois; brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Kelvin Johnson of Leesville, Louisiana; sisters, Janet McGrath of Plano, Texas, and Abbie Griffin of Aubry, Texas; step-daughters, Kristin McAfee of Euless, Texas, Laura Adams of Flower Mound, Texas; several nieces, nephews and a great number of friends who will miss her dearly. She has donated her remains to Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home's chapel in Leesville at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 593, Waxahachie, Texas, 75168, or to the American Cancer Society.
