Funeral services for Doris Clift, 93, will be held 10 A.M., Friday, July 10, 2020 at Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Tommy Campbell will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in the Ridge Community of Leon County. A brief visitation will take place Friday from 9 A.M. to service time at the funeral home. Doris Elaine Clift was born February 20, 1927 in Baytown, Texas to parents, Joseph & Rose (Liebham) Palka. She worked for thirty years in the human resources department for various employers. She and her late husband, Roy, had purchased land in Leon County in 1960 where they later made their home following retirement. Doris was an artist and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and her cats. She was a faithful church goer. Her children credit their own Christianity to their mother's strong belief in God and the wonderful example she provided. Doris passed away peacefully June 6, 2020 in Madisonville. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, Thomas Joseph Palka; husband, Roy Clift and children, Cindy Kay Carpenter and Monty L. Clift. Surviving family members are children, Christine Milner-Campbell (Tommy) of Centerville, Roy “Buddy” Milner (Vivian) of Katy and Thomas Clift (Rhonda) of Kingwood, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Dan Sears, Thomas Campbell, Bill Klepac, Mark Smith, Dave Jarvis, Chuck Hughes In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rufus Refuge, www.rufusrefuge.org, or a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
