Bio

Henry was the son of Zeno and Sophia Bridges Morris. His father is buried in Guiceland, and his mother is buried in Garden of Memories. Henry buried beside his wife, Dorothy Beebe Lepperd Harrod Morris Gentry. OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Thursday, 28 May 1970: Henry Morris, 64, who resided on the Middle Crockett Road here, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday in a local hospital following an illness of several months. Funeral services are to be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Hassell & Foster Chapel here with the Rev. Vernon Hedge officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Elkhart. Pallbearers for the funeral will be Ted Harrod, Wayne Morris, Robert Wayne Riley, Jim Quick, Tommy Sharpe and Delbert Harrod. Mr. Morris was born Dec. 8, 1905, in Elkhart, a son of the late Zeno Morris and Mrs. Sophia Jane Bridges Morris. A member of the Baptist Church, he attended schools is both Elkhart and Grapeland. Mr. Morris was a ???? engineer and for over 20 years was employed by Parker Brothers of Houston. Before returning to Anderson County eight years ago, he had resided in Houston and Bay Cliff. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Beebe Morris of Palestine; a daughter, Mrs. Tommy (Joyce Geraldine) Sharpe of Dallas; four stepsons, Ted Herrod of Palestine, Delbert Harrod, Doyal Killgo and Royal Killgo, all of Houston; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Margie Locasco, Mrs. Rita Lamb, and Miss Vicki Harrod, all of Houston, and Mrs. Judy Clement of Palestine; a brother, Peter Morris of Elkhart; two sisters, Mrs. Adell Long of Elkhart and Mrs. Oller Walling of Huntsville, three grandchildren, Misses Gale and Tammy Sharpe and Tommy Sharpe, Jr. all of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
