Kearney Hub, Kearney, Nebraska, Wednesday, May 23, 1990, Page 6A MARY TANNER Former cook HILDRETH – Mary J. Tanner, 91, died at her home in Hildreth Tuesday, May 22, 1990, of natural causes. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hildreth. The Rev. John Wolf will officiate with burial in Hildreth Cemetery. Jelden-Layton Funeral Home in Hildreth is in charge of arrangements. She was born Aug. 13, 1898, in Macon to Gerd and Wilhelmina (Koester) Rademacher. The family moved to Hildreth in 1914 and she attended Hildreth schools. On Nov. 18, 1925 she married Vern Tanner. She cooked at Zobel’s Café in Hildreth for many years. She was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of its women’s organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1947.
