Margalene "Margie" Haas, age 78, passed away October 4, 2011. Born May 21, 1933 in Round Rock to Alex and Katie Klattenhoff, Graduated from Round Rock High and Texas Lutheran College. Taught Elementary school 37 years, the last 25 at Wooten in Austin. Member Ascension Lutheran Church, SPJST, Friendship Club and more. Margie lived an active life the last 11 years at Parson's House in Austin. She suffered a stroke and heart attack on October 1. Preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Delvin Haas, her parents and brother, Alex Wallace. Survived by sons, Wayne Haas of North Carolina and Gary Haas of Austin, sister Jennave Fuchs and husband Wilfred, Round Rock, sister-in-law Elsie Fleischer of Georgetown, nieces and nephews. Margalene will lie in state at Ascension Lutheran Church, 6420 Hart Lane Austin, Sunday 12:30 p.m.; Funeral Services 1:30 p.m. followed by fellowship and refreshments. Private Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials sent to Ascension Lutheran Church.
