Henry owned Tlucek's Pharmacy in the Houston Heights for over 30 years. He was active in his church and in the Knights of Columbus and KC 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He started as a pharmacist in at Kahanik & Renger Pharmacy in Hallettsville, Texas, and moved to Houston in 1943 to manage Madings Drug Store #20 in River Oaks. By the late 1940s, he opened his own pharmacy, Tlucek's Pharmacy, which became a gathering place for all his customers, especially on Sundays after church. Henry loved to whistle and was often heard when he was relaxing. His customers depended on his advice and the children of his customers would show him their report cards before they went home because he would give them a nickel for good grades.
