Bio

Richard Dean Sillivan, 88, of Oklahoma City, went to be with the Lord on June 26th, 2020. He was born September 23, 1931 to Clyde and Mildred (Leep) Sillivan at Sargent, NE. He married Christine Garrett on March 20, 1953. Richard was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an air traffic controller for 38 years at Albuquerque, NM, Anchorage, Alaska and Longmont, CO. He also instructed air traffic control for the FAA in OKC. Richard had a passion for flying and all the things associated with airplanes. He was an accomplished airplane mechanic and bought, repaired and sold many airplanes after retiring from the FAA. He was affectionately known as the "Bonanza Man" by his friends because he loved working on and flying Beechcraft Bonanzas. Richard loved spending time with family, especially his three daughters. He was a kind, generous man who loved the Lord and sharing the word with any who would listen. He faithfully served at church as a deacon, director and teacher. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Herbert and Norman Sillivan. Survivors include wife Christine of OKC; Children, Denise Riggs (Rick), OKC; Brenda Dowse (Bruce) OKC; Deena Bourne (David), Lexington, KY. Siblings: Maynard, Don, Betty, Curt. Grandchildren: Erica, Alisha, Rachel, Cory, Kyra, Ginger, Michael, Kassi. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Monday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. with family present 6-8 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Tuesday, June 30, 10 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
