Published in the Huntsville Times, Huntsville, AL, Thursday, December 14, 1972. A funeral for Johnnie Carl Honea, 50, of Rt. 2, Gurley, who died Wednesday at his residence, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Big Cove Holiness Church, the Rev. Ollie Priest and the Rev. Duke Cowan officiating. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vivian Honea of Gurley; a son, Johnnie T. Honea Sr. of Gurley; five brothers, W. A. Honea and Bob Honea, both of San Diego, CA, Jack Honea of LaMesa, CA , Richard Honea and J. B. Honea, both of McKinney, TX; four sisters, Mrs. E. C. [Allie Lorene] Agan, Mrs. Glen [Wanda] Bell and Mrs. Stinson [Mary Ozella] Phillips, all of McKinney, TX, and Mrs. Doyle [Imogene] Gardner of Dallas, TX, and two grandchildren. The body will be at the funeral home until time for the service. Mr. Honea was a U.S. veteran of World War II (Texas Pvt Btry A 559 FLD ARTY). s/o Robert Emmit Honea and Mary (Mollie) Perkins Lenderman Honea. Married Vivian McAnally, 1947, Collin Co, TX.
