ASHLEY - David Edison Wornstaff, lifelong resident of this community, died early today in his home on Claypool Road, southwest of here, where he lived with his son, Bert, and his family. He had been seriously ill for three days. Mr. Wornstaff was born and had lived his entire life on the farm where he died. A retired farmer, he would have celebrated his 87th birthday on New Year's Day. Mr. Wornstaff and his late wife, Mary 'Mollie' had celebrated their golden wedding anniversay in 1933. She also died during the holiday season six years ago. Surviving are five daughters and three sons: Jossie Wolford, San Jose, CA, Mrs. Faye Plumley of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Theresa Turpin in Marion, Mrs. Hallie Spade, Crestline, Mrs. Cheryl Griffith, Delaware, Bert Wornstaff, with whom he lived, Ward Wornstaff of Dayton, and Harvey Wornstaff in Santa Monica, CA; plus seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Services will be held in the home at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Burial in Marlborough Cemetery.
