A 1943 graduate of the Nebraska College of Medicine. He was a world-renowned pathologist specializing in surgical pathology and thyroid pathology. He served as a professor of pathology at Harvard University Medical School and was affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital. ~~~~~~~~~~ Obituary Dr. Austin L. Vickery Jr. 85, Of Westwood & Nantucket, formerly of Dover, died March 2, 2005. Husband of the late Amelia Frances (Wheelwright) Vickery. Survived by his brothers-in-law, Harold L. Heim of Fremont, NE and Clifford Bewig, Sr. of Omaha, NE, his sisters-in-law, Ardith H. Vickery and Carmen Vickery, both of Omaha, NE and Elizabeth B. Wheelwright of Seattle, WA and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dr. Vickery's name may be made to Nantucket Conservation Foundation, Inc., P.O.
