Lincoln Journal Star, Lincoln, NE, Mon, Nov 2, 1959 Funeral of Mrs. Selma O. Backus, 78, of 5359 Bancroft, who died Monday, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hodgman-Splain, the Rev. Robert Klein officiating. Lincoln Memorial Park. Born at Norman, she was the widow of Wallace Backus and had lived in Lincoln for 45 years. Survivors: sons, Ted, Joseph and James Lyons, all of Lincoln; daughters, Mrs. Virginia Norris and Miss Nellie Lyons, both of Lincoln; brothers, John and Theodore Holstein in Kearney; sisters, Mrs. Hewig Thompson of Minden and Mrs. Hilda Peters of Hartwell; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. www.newspapers.com
