Bio
John Peter Singer, 25, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday in Oakland, Cal., where he had worked in a naval supply depot. He graduated from East High School. Two years ago he moved to California, where he married Irene Knoble of Sioux City December 12, 1941. Surviving are the widow; the mother, Mrs. Pauline Singer; three brothers, Frank and Willard, both in the navy, and Fred of Sioux City, and a sister, Charlotte of Sioux City. The body will be sent to Winter’s funeral home. The Sioux City Journal, June 15, 1943 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funeral services for John Peter Singer, 24, navy supply depot laborer who died Monday at Oakland, Cal., will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. E. J. Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Park cemetery. Mr. Singer was born March 14, 1919, in Sioux City and resided here until two years ago, when he moved to Oakland. The body is expected to arrive today at Winter’s funeral home.
