Bio
Fredrick came to the United States at the age of 18 to escape serving in the German Army. He settled in Castroville, Medina County, Texas, where he was introduced to Bertha Geyer by the Biedigers (Medina County History). After Fredrick arrived in the United States he sent back to Alsace Lorraine, France and brought his mother, Antonette, to Castroville, Texas. She reportedly died here and was buried on the hill, although no marker has ever been found (Medina County History). Update: A memorial marker has been placed in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Castroville, Medina County, Texas.
